Deerfield’s current involvement and active participation in the program promotes ecologically sound land management and the conservation of natural resources.
Its positive impact extends beyond the boundaries of the golf course and helps benefit the greater Newark and Delaware community. Superintendent John Jacob and his staff work tirelessly to ensure that the golf course accentuates and enhances the environment.
Deerfield works toward certificates of recognition in six categories:
- Environmental Planning
- Wildlife and Habitat Management
- Player and Annual Passholder Involvement
- Integrated Pest Management
- Water Conservation
- Water Quality Management
Deerfield is proud to continue in its rich history of environmental awareness and education through its Audubon International certification. It is one of a small handful of Delaware golf courses to earn this recognition.
