Deerfield Delaware Wedding Venues
5-Star Wedding Wire Review Rating
There’s Really Nothing Like It.
Of the many Delaware Wedding Venues, Deerfield is Delaware’s premier wedding, banquet, meeting and special events facility, located on the picturesque grounds bordering White Clay Creek State Park.
Deerfield is a versatile, elegant events facility and one of the top wedding venues in Delaware that can accommodate almost any need – from corporate meetings in one of several distinctive meeting and function rooms – to a grand reception for up to 500 guests in The Ballroom. In addition, Deerfield features several smaller banquet spaces ideal for more intimate functions.
Deerfield also offers a public restaurant – The Pub & Grille – serving lunch, dinner and cocktails from 11am to close (seasonal, hours vary.) Further, Deerfield hosts Delaware’s Best Sunday Brunch from late September to early May. Finally, Deerfield is proud to feature a full calendar of holiday events including Valentine’s Brunch, Easter Sunday Buffet, Mother’s Day Buffet, Father’s Day Brunch, Thanksgiving Day Buffet, and Brunches With Santa.
Stately architecture and classic columns give Deerfield a refined air everywhere you look … fine art adorns virtually every wall … exquisite décor is tastefully understated … continuous walls of floor-to-ceiling glass connect this elegant interior to a wide, flowing Terrace and the breathtaking, natural setting that surrounds Deerfield – beautiful, landscaped grounds, manicured fairways and greens as well as panoramas of the scenic ancient forest of White Clay Creek State Park.
Originally built by the DuPont Corporation for its employees in 1955, the club was called Louviers Country Club. In 1994 MBNA purchased the club from DuPont and built the new clubhouse ballroom and recreational building, renaming it Deerfield. In 2005 the state of Delaware acquired the 145-acre property to protect the land from development. The club is part of Delaware’s White Clay Creek State Park supervised by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation. In February 2006 the Division of Parks and Recreation retained Forewinds Hospitality to manage the property. Deerfield opened to the public for the first time in 51 years on April 14, 2006.
Forewinds Hospitality owns, manages and consults for golf courses, country clubs, restaurants, catering facilities, and conference centers on the East Coast … creating “Hospitality Destinations” – warm, welcoming hospitality environments that deliver Forewinds’ exclusive Hospitality PLUS! to every guest.
